The 21st century in which you find yourself today is an aging society philosophywith fewer children. Amid this social background, medical problems have never been of greater concern to people than now. Our country is facing various problems that require pompt action including health care, medical care and welfare. As the number of elderly people increases, along with the number of disabled, those suffering from cancer, intractable diseases, chronic diseases and mental problems, we clearly have a need for high-quality nursing services both at home and in medical institutions.

Nursing is a human activity that, throughout the centuries, has been indispensable for human life. A person suffering from a disease is a holistic human being who needs to be healed following a great deal of suffering and discomfort. The study of nursing is a practical pursuit that investigates the prevention of disease, the care of the sick, specialized training for daily life, the care of those suffering from chronic diseases, the elderly and the dying, and ways in which to help people live a better life whatever their condition of health may be.

Studying nursing means not only attaining knowledge and learning various theories, but also gaining the practical ability to be of help to others based on such knowledge and theory. Another goal for you at college is to learn numerous ways of studying and styles of learning.

Kobe City College of Nursing admires and respects your high motivation and positive attitude toward the nursing profession, and will always do its utmost to support you in your desire to become an expert in the community.
